Hi, I’m Jeanine – the coffee nerd behind Daily Home Coffee. ☕
Daily Home Coffee is your no-snob guide to brewing café-style coffee at home.
If you’ve ever stared at a bag of beans, a cheap grinder and a random coffee maker thinking “Why doesn’t this taste like the café?” — you’re in the right place. My goal is to help you make coffee you’re genuinely excited to drink, with gear and methods that actually fit your budget and your life.
What you’ll find on Daily Home Coffee
This site is organized around how real people actually make and drink coffee at home. You’ll see that reflected in the categories:
- Home Brewing Basics & Manual Methods Simple, step-by-step guides for French press, V60, Chemex, AeroPress, moka pot, Turkish coffee, camping coffee and more. No fancy jargon — just clear instructions, photos, and “if this happens, do that” style troubleshooting.
- Espresso, Milk & Latte Art at Home How to pull better shots on beginner espresso machines, steam milk without burning it, and pour simple latte art (yes, even if you’re starting with a basic frother or French press).
- Cold Brew, Iced & Café-Style Drinks Starbucks copycat recipes, global café favorites, cold brew hacks, iced lattes, summer coffee cocktails and seasonal drinks you can make with ingredients you actually have.
- Beans, Roasts & Origins What all those words on the coffee bag mean, how origin and processing affect flavor, and how to choose beans for your preferred brew method — French press, espresso, pour-over, cold brew, etc.
- Health, Diet & “Functional” Coffee Mushroom coffee, low-acid options, intermittent fasting, keto coffee, proffee, plant-based creamers and what actually matters if you’re trying to drink coffee that loves your body back.
- Gear, Budget & Home Coffee Corners Honest reviews and comparisons for grinders, machines and accessories, plus practical guides for building a home coffee setup — from “under $200 coffee corner” to tiny apartment coffee stations and budget-friendly upgrades.
- Troubleshooting & Fix-It Guides Bitter, sour, weak, muddy, gritty, burnt, no crema, clogged steam wand, weird water… If your coffee tastes off or your gear is acting up, you’ll find problem → cause → fix style articles here.
- Lifestyle, Sustainability & Fun Stuff Zero-waste coffee routines, reusable pods, eco-friendly filters, coffee in the garden, coffee gifts, coffee-infused recipes, seasonal coffee ideas and little rituals that make your daily cup more special.
In short: if it touches your daily coffee routine — from beans to brew to budget — I probably want to write about it.
Why I started Daily Home Coffee
Daily Home Coffee began because I was tired of two extremes:
- Overpriced café drinks that quietly eat your budget,
- Overcomplicated coffee content that feels like you need a barista diploma, a $2,000 machine and a chemistry degree.
I believe there’s a sweet spot in the middle:
- You don’t need “perfect” coffee — but you can drink coffee that tastes much better than average.
- You don’t need to buy everything — but you should know which upgrades actually make a difference.
- You don’t need to turn coffee into a job — but it’s fun when making your morning cup feels like a little daily ritual rather than a chore.
Daily Home Coffee is my way of documenting what I learn, test and tweak — and turning it into guides that save you time, money and a lot of bad cups.
How I test and review things
On this site you’ll see a lot of:
- “Best for X” guides (best coffee for French press, moka pot, cold brew, office, students, etc.)
- “X vs Y” comparisons (machine vs machine, milk vs milk, method vs method)
- “Is it worth it?” reviews (dual boiler machines, expensive grinders, reusable pods, smart mugs, subscriptions…)
My approach is simple:
- I focus on real-world home use, not just specs.
- I care about taste, consistency, usability and value, not hype.
- When I recommend something, it’s because I believe it makes sense for a certain type of person and budget — not because it’s the most expensive.
Some links on the site may be affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you choose to buy through those links. It never costs you extra, and it helps keep Daily Home Coffee ad-light and sustainable. I only recommend products I would genuinely consider for myself or for a friend.
If something is overhyped, overpriced or just not worth the hassle, I’ll say so.
Who this blog is for
Daily Home Coffee is especially for you if:
- You want café-quality coffee at home without going broke,
- You like the idea of “slow coffee” (manual brewing, dialing in, experimenting),
- You’re curious about beans, roasts and origins but don’t want snobby gatekeeping,
- You care about health, diet or sensitivity (low-acid, decaf, fasting, mushroom coffee, etc.),
- You want your coffee routine to feel like a small daily pleasure — not just caffeine.
Whether you’re making your very first French press or trying to decide between your first espresso machine and a grinder upgrade, I want this site to feel like a friendly, detailed, honest guide sitting next to you in your kitchen.
How to start exploring Daily Home Coffee
If you’re new here, a good way to start is:
- Visit the [Start Here] page to see the main categories and essential guides.
- Check the Brewing Guides for your current method (French press, V60, AeroPress, moka pot, etc.).
- Browse the Bean & Gear section if you’re considering buying something soon.
- Save a few Drinks & Recipes for weekends or guests.
You don’t have to read everything. Just pick one problem you want to solve — bitter coffee, weak coffee, wrong beans, confusing gear — and follow that path.
Let’s connect
I love hearing:
- What gear you’re currently using,
- What your “daily home coffee” looks like,
